Intro to Letterpress
2 Day workshop : Sat & sun may 11-12, 10 am - 2 pm
Learn to set moveable type and print on poster and platen presses in the IPRC print shop. You’ll learn the vocabulary of printing and typesetting while getting a feel for this beautiful and historic process. Gain access to IPRCs collection of over 150 fonts of lead and wood type. Leave the class with a printed card and the satisfaction that comes with using 100 year old equipment!
Successful completion of this 2-day workshop grants IPRC Studio Members access to the Letterpress Studio so you can keep on printing. Non-members and Basic Members receive one trial month of Studio Membership after completion of the course regardless of sliding scale level.
Day 1 – Typesetting Essentials: Sat, May 11th, 10:00am-2:00pm
